The output mixer lets you mix the early reflections-to-tail ratio, plus the wet/dry balance of the whole plug-in when you instantiate the plug-in as an insert effect. You can use dry input without early reflections, use delay comp on the dry signal to time its arrival with early reflections' signal or delay the input up to 30 meters to the tail processor. From here, the signal flows to the early reflections' mix fader in the tail mixer, where you can blend the ratio of the input signal with the early reflections' output to drive the tail processor. Oxford starts with an input mixer with input gain, stereo separation and low-frequency roll-off controls. You can freely adjust early reflections without affecting the tail's settings and vice versa.

I don't use it for "long reverbs" where i prefer other things but i wouldn't hesitate to work - mix in the box using only this to give "size" and place the different sounds in the stereo field. it does one of the most difficult things reverbs are trying to do. operation confuses people ( like everything Sonnox at most of the times ) but once you will understand what's happening, your search for small reverbs / ambiences and everything that gives "size" without being noticed will end.

but when you are looking for something in the box where you can use several instances and you do want to sound professional you can do a favor to yourself and buy this. i strongly believe certain hardware reverbs are on a different league ( own and use BricastiM7 - Lexicon 960,480 - Eventide Orville ). Definitely one of the most professional sounding in the box reverbs.
